About our Location- Placencia, Belize
Placencia, located in Southern Belize, is the second most popular tourist destination in the country. It is situated on a 16-mile-long peninsula that is surrounded by a lagoon on one side and the Caribbean Sea on the other. It is much smaller, less congested and more laid back than Ambergris Caye/San Pedro. Being inland, Placencia provides easy access to many activities on the mainland. Placencia offers numerous restaurants, small shops, bars and the famous Placencia Sidewalk. It is the perfect place for an amazing Caribbean vacation!
Our Accommodations
Our unique properties are located on Placencia Caye, a few hundred yards from the center of Placencia Village, overlooking the Caribbean Sea and amazing Maya Mountains views. You have the best of both worlds with the security and privacy of being on a private island yet only a 2-minute boat ride to the center of Placencia Village.
Shadow Sands, Island Breeze, and Shantosha Villas offer the privacy and comfort of your own home; fully air-conditioned, high-end appliances, city power, water, etc., with all the associated high-end resort amenities.
Get on one of the provided paddle boards or kayaks, located right on the white sand beach behind home. Take a tour around the island and the amazing house reef on the front side of the island, or through the marina. Nice snorkeling is right around the island and the water is always smooth on the leeward side where the house beach is located.
Jump in the provided shuttle boat and have the captain drop you off on the Placencia Village dock, at the end of the famous Placencia Sidewalk, and go into town and check out the fine restaurants, bars, and gift shops.
Shadow Sands will serve as our main gathering place and is an amazing brand new 3 story 6,500 sq. ft. modern villa featuring 5-bedrooms, 6-bathrooms, and huge fresh water pool overlooking the ocean. The 5 large private air-conditioned bedrooms all have amazing ocean front views, large private patios and ensuite baths some with both indoor and outdoor showers. The home is located on 2 ocean front lots with the front of the home overlooking a private marina, great landscaping, privacy and 160 foot private beach along the calm Caribbean Sea.
This uniquely designed modern villa offers the utmost in privacy with all rooms being located off an open air hallway, each having an ensuite bathroom, air-conditioning, private patio and all facing the beach and Caribbean Sea.
Island Breeze Villa is a new 3-story custom beachfront estate with a huge rooftop living space and pool with scenic views of the Caribbean Sea and Placencia Village. The villa has 4 bedrooms w/ private ensuite bathrooms and a 5th kids bedroom with bunks (but too small for adults). There is a living room on the first two floors that have walk out patios. There are also 3 half baths - one on each floor.
The covered rooftop deck is a fantastic place to hang out. Cool off in the amazing rooftop pool or have a drink at the large built-in bar and entertainment area as you enjoy the amazing sunsets. You might catch a glimpse of a manatee floating around nearby!
Santosha Villa is in the process of being built. It is between Shadow Sands and Island Breeze and will be occupied by the retreat team. If you look closely at pictures and videos, you will see the tiny home between our other two villas.

GETTING FROM THE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT TO THE VILLAS
All international flights into and out of Belize are serviced through the Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport (BZE), located northwest of Belize City. Our concierge will assist us in arranging domestic transportation from BZE to Placencia.
There are two options:
- Continuous, free access to the shuttle boat and driver to take you to/from Placencia Village
- Daily Maid Service
- Chef to prepare our daily meals
- Guest Laundry Service
- On property spa services (15% off if scheduled before arrival)
- 6 Kayaks and 6 Paddle Boards
- High Speed Internet and WIFI
- Soap, Shampoo, paper goods, beach towels, etc at each property

- Three Excursions:
- Monkey River & Manatee Watch: Take a boat ride through the mangroves and Caribbean Sea to enter the mouth of Monkey River at Monkey River Village. On the boat ride down the Monkey River, watch for the wildlife of Belize – birds, iguanas, snakes, crocodiles and the stars of the tour – howler monkeys. Then return to Monkey River Village to enjoy a native lunch. Top off the trip with a stop for manatee watching on the way back to Placencia.
- Silk Caye & Moho Caye Snorkel Tour: Take a beautiful boat ride from Placencia Caye to hang out, snorkel and swim with nurse sharks, sting rays, and turtles at Silk Caye. Then, head over to Moho Caye for a freshly cooked lunch prepared by our guides and another opportunity to swim and snorkel.
- You will be treated to a Dinner out in Placencia Village

GETTING FROM THE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT TO THE VILLAS
All international flights into and out of Belize are serviced through the Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport (BZE), located northwest of Belize City. Our concierge will assist us in arranging domestic transportation from BZE to Placencia.
There are two options:
- Local commuter flight from the airport (BZE) to the Placencia Airstrip (PLJ). Flight time is approximately 30 minutes. Once in Placencia, The villa staff will pick you up and take you to the villa. Our concierge will work with you to book the local flights as soon as you have your international flights ready. Cost of round trip commuter flight is $299.
- Travel by private shuttle van from BZE, where the driver will meet you outside of baggage claim. The drive time is approximately 2 hours. You’ll be taken directly to the villa. Our concierge will work with you to book the shuttle van as soon as you have your international flights ready. (Minimum 3 people at $216pp, each additional person is $60)

Fill out the registration request form below. Lucy will send you and your roommate an invoice and a waiver. A $500 per person, non-refundable deposit holds your spots. The balance will need to be paid in full by October 1, 2025.

3. Registering without a roommate
If you know you want to go on the retreat, but haven’t found a roommate yet, you can register with a $1000 non-refundable deposit that will hold two spots. It is up to you to find a roommate. If you don’t, you understand that you will be responsible for the full cost of the double room that will be paid in full by October 1, 2025.
